About Obi

The body has been invisible to data. We're closing that gap.

Obi is what happens when a movement platform, a robotics lab, and a physical therapist's clinic have the same idea at the same time: that the body's data has been sitting there, untouched, the whole time.

Our mission

A precise, honest, real-time understanding of how your body moves.

So that training, recovery, and rehabilitation are guided by data, not guesswork. We believe movement — the most fundamental thing a body does — deserves the same measurement rigor as a heartbeat.

Our origin

It started with a simple frustration.

Rehab plans and fitness apps could tell you what to do, but never whether you were doing it correctly, in the moment, with your own body. Video feedback was delayed. Wearables tracked motion in aggregate, not pressure or placement.

So the question became: what if the ground itself could tell you the truth? That question led to the Mat. Then Motion Nodes. Then Pulse. Fused together, these three signals became something none of them were alone — a live, whole-body read on human movement.

What we believe

Core values that shape every product decision.

Ground truth over guesswork

Obi reports what the sensors actually measured, not what would be encouraging to hear.

The body is the interface

Every product removes a screen, a strap, or a step between you and your data, not adds one.

Precision is a form of respect

A vague "good job" helps no one recovering from an injury. Exact numbers do.

Built to be worn by nobody

Obi’s hardware lives in the environment — the mat, the floor, the joint — not on a wrist you have to remember.
